GRUPO ARANIA SAVES 57.49 TONS OF CO₂ WITH THE USE OF ITS FIRST ELECTRIC TRUCK

· The CO₂ saved are equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 2,600 trees in a year, or to preventing the burning of 24,500 liters of gasoline.

· All the companies that make up Grupo Arania have contributed to this milestone, the idea for which originated in the IMPULSA project at the University of Deusto.

· “For us, sustainability is a way of doing things,” says Ana Guinea, Director of Sustainability.

One year after Grupo Arania incorporated its first 100% electric truck, a key step towards decarbonizing its logistics operations in its "zero-kilometer" supply chain, the data speaks for itself and is excellent. The use of our electric truck has resulted in a saving of 57.49 tons of CO₂, representing a significant positive impact and marking a turning point in Grupo Arania's logistics.

As Sustainability Director Ana Guinea points out, "for us, sustainability is a way of doing things," and we see no other option than to lead by example, so that, as far as possible, it not only benefits us but also helps others.

These magnificent CO₂ savings figures have been achieved thanks to the contributions of all the companies in the Group, which confirms the commitment of everyone who makes up this company.

Environmental Impact of an Electric Truck

Our electric truck, with a range of 300 kilometers, which eliminates the use of fossil fuels and runs exclusively on renewable electricity, has become a great ally in implementing sustainability policies.

In fact, we have to thank it for the 57.49 tons saved, an impact that can be compared to the carbon absorbed by 2,600 mature trees in a year, or to avoiding the burning of about 24,500 liters of gasoline.

Achieving a milestone like this would not be possible without the commitment of the entire staff. “We must thank everyone at Grupo Arania for their propulsion and commitment to sustainability,” emphasizes the president, Eric Arana.

The launch of the electric truck arose from the reflections carried out in the IMPULSA project, created by Grupo Arania together with the University of Deusto, for the development and loyalty of the new leaders of the organization, in which several people from the different business units of the Group have taken part.

Grupo Arania's commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and developing solutions that combine technology, efficiency and respect for the planet are the pillars of a global decarbonization strategy driven by responsibility.
