This acquisition helps pave the Group’s way towards increasingly emission-free operations in logistics.
Ana Guinea, Sustainability Director: “We are participating in the change towards cleaner and more efficient mobility”.
The vehicle has a range of 300 km and will strengthen Grupo Arania’s strategy in its “Km0” operations.
Grupo Arania has taken a decisive step towards decarbonisation in its logistics activity in its “km 0” operations by adding its first 100% electric vehicle. It is an innovative loading vehicle that has a range of around 300 km, and that will help boost the group’s sustainable strategy, both in deliveries to its local customers and in the transport of goods between different companies.
The addition of this heavy-duty electric vehicle meets with Grupo Arania’s determination to move firmly towards increasingly emission-free operations in logistics. It is yet a further example too of its commitment to technology and sustainable mobility. As Ana Guinea, Grupo Arania’s Sustainability Director stated, it is a “major step forward in our commitment to real and measurable sustainability”. “It is not only an investment in technology but also a declaration of principles: we want to participate in the change towards cleaner and more efficient mobility”, she added.
The addition of this new vehicle, which does not use fossil fuels and runs exclusively on renewable electrical energy, will allow the Group to reduce its CO2 emissions by 140 tonnes per year, thus helping to reduce the environmental impact of its logistics operations.
This decision is another milestone in the strategy designed by Grupo Arania to improve sustainability in all its business areas, albeit not the only one. The company has defined a strategic plan whose objective is to progressively implement different sustainable solutions based on innovation and energy efficiency in order to lead the transition towards an increasingly emission-free industry. “In a sector where sustainability makes the difference, we are looking to contribute with specific initiatives, and this truck is yet another step towards the goal of becoming a more responsible industry”, Ana Guinea affirmed.
Grupo Arania’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and developing solutions that combine technology, efficiency and respect for the planet are the cornerstones of a global decarbonisation strategy driven by responsibility. “The future will not wait, it is built”, concluded the Sustainability Director.
