Grupo Arania hosts UNESID Sustainability Working Group Meeting

On June 10th, Arania Group hosted the in-person meeting of the UNESID Sustainability Working Group at its facilities in Zamudio, bringing together representatives from leading companies in the steel sector.

During the meeting, the main advances and challenges in ESG matters were addressed, with a special focus on regulatory evolution, the definition of sector indicators, and the need to strengthen comparability and transparency in sustainability information.

The meeting also included the participation of José María Fernández Alcalá, Director of Circular Economy at IHOBE, who gave a presentation on the Digital Product Passport (DPP), highlighting its role in industrial transformation and its relevance to the future of the sector.

The session concluded with a visit to the Arania plant in Amorebieta, where attendees were able to learn firsthand about the production process and the initiatives implemented in the areas of sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
