NOUVELLES GÉNÉRALES / 19-03-2024
This visit reflects the continuous support of the Ministry to the growth, wealth generation, workplace backing and R&D in the region. Their effort to understand the different businesses as well as their current and future challenges means a great support to the Basque industry.
From left to right: Juan Ramis (Managing Director Arania S.A.U.), Mikel Amundarain (Industry Vice Minister), Eric Arana (President Grupo Arania), Arantxa Tapia (Minister of Basque Country’s Economic, Development, Sustainability and Environment), Carmelo Bilbao (Vice President Grupo Arania) and Alberto Lejarreta (CEO Grupo Arania)
Grupo Arania’s team had a chance to share with the Minister and Vice Minister challenges such as the electrification of vehicles, the decarbonization of steel or absenteeism, as well as important milestones for the company this last year such as the purchase of the company Lamincer, the establishment of two subsidiaries in the U.S., the opening of a new warehouse in Italy or the strong drive to decarbonize of the group. Afterwards all participants had the chance to visit the precision cold rolled strip manufacturing plant in the same location in Amorebieta.
In a plant with more than 80 years of history, the Minister and Vice Minister could observe the high levels of automation and digitalization that have transformed this steel manufacturing plant in Vizcaya, making it the third precision cold roller in Europe, exporting to more than 20 countries around the globe.
Group Arania thanks again the Ministry for their continuous support, as well as the Minister and Vice Minister for their visit.
