Grupo Arania wins the 2026 Dataton at the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center

Winners! Grupo Arania has won the Dataton Euskadi 2026, organized by BAIC (Basque Artificial Intelligence Centre), with an AI application project focused on carbon footprint analysis. The project was developed jointly by Aratubo and Inentum.

“We set ourselves a challenge that everyone is talking about these days: the carbon footprint.”

  • 5 participating companies.
  • 5 technology partners.
  • 5 working teams.
  • 5 challenging projects: ours of course focused on sustainability.
  • 72 hours of work.

These are the key figures of the BAIC 2026 Dataton, where our challenge and the solution we developed have earned us the title of winners.

Aratubo’s Sustainability Manager, Iker Seoane, who, along with Inentum, presented the proposal, summarized the challenge that led to their victory: “We set ourselves a challenge that everyone is talking about these days: the carbon footprint, knowing that the problem isn’t measuring it, the problem is reducing it.”

Starting with the goal of reducing the carbon footprint and using AI as a tool, they sought a solution that would allow them to be predictive and generate valid reports. This meant working with different parameters to understand the footprint we would generate and how to minimize it. The idea was so well-received that it made them winners.

Thanks to BAIC for inviting Grupo Arania to participate in this initiative, to Inentum for being the best company to work with on our objective, and congratulations to all the other participants for the quality of their projects and for sharing such a great experience.

All of this would not be possible without the conviction of everyone at Grupo Arania that sustainability, and everything it entails, is a way of doing things we believe in and are committed to. This is a shared triumph and a shared drive with the entire Grupo Arania family.
